Villa Widmann was built in 1719 together with the barchessa and the oratory and owes its current appearance to the renovation carried out in the second half of the same century to adapt it to the rococo tastes of the then owners.
The interior of Villa Widmann
As soon as you enter the villa you immediately notice the Murano chandelier made up of a myriad of pieces hand-worked by the master glassmaker Giuseppe Briati in the 18th century.
After passing through the atrium you enter the ballroom, completely frescoed. The room is double height and a gallery runs all around it. And it is precisely from the gallery that you have the most spectacular view of the whole of the ballroom.
The gardens of Villa Widmann
You exit from the villa through the back door of the room, which overlooks the garden.
You are greeted by a round of statues, of which the garden is rich. A good part comes from demolished villas gardens.
Do not miss the stretch of water, a pond with cypress trees delel marshes, which intrigue the roots that emerge from the water.
Also worth visiting is the barchessa of the villa, which houses a small collection of carriages.
